Is the National Conference & Business Fair completely canceled or postponed? Will you reschedule later this year?

It’s a little of both! We will not host the National Conference & Business Fair in its existing form in 2020, but we are planning to incorporate elements of the conference into a hybrid WBENC event in November.

Save the date for November 15-18, 2020. More details to come.

Why did you make this decision to call off the event?

We have been carefully considering our options for the event, but when it comes down it, the health, safety, well-being, and livelihood of our network comes first. With many unknowns about the trajectory of this pandemic combined with an uncertain economic future, it became clear that hosting this type of event in June would not be in the best interests of our network, both for the protection of our network’s health and safety but also to respect the financial burdens and restrictions many are facing as a result of this economic slowdown.

Will WBENC offer refunds for the registration fees?

Yes. Given the circumstances, we have adopted a flexible refund policy. All attendees will have the option to request a full refund, defer their registration to the November event, defer their registration to the 2021 National Conference & Business Fair, or donate the cost of their registration to WBENC.

Registered attendees will receive an email in the next two weeks with further information and instructions.

Will the hotel refund the one-night deposit?

Yes. All rooms reserved in the WBENC hotel block at the Westin Peachtree Plaza and the Marriott Marquis will be automatically canceled with no cancellation fees. No action is needed on your part.

Can I donate my registration fees to WBENC?

Yes! We are grateful for the many WBEs and Corporate Members who have generously offered to donate their registration fees to help WBENC offset the costs of these drastic event changes. We will provide a donation option in the email that goes out to all attendees within the next two weeks.

Don’t forget: WBENC is a registered 501c3 nonprofit organization and, as such, donations to WBENC are considered tax-deductible.

Will WBENC offer any virtual event options?

For our network, we know nothing beats face-to-face networking and connections and we will always prioritize in-person events, but in order to provide ongoing education and support during these difficult times, we are exploring some virtual programming options and we are currently collaborating with our Regional Partner Organizations to come up with the best solutions.
